International Convention Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation IZKK
Works of art and historical monuments bear witness to the past history of a region or a country. They serve as an open book on the culture of our ancestors living in different times. The task of preserving this rich heritage for future generations is not only of regional but of vital international interest.
Founded on the initiative of the Fraunhofer ISC in Würzburg with the support of the Main-Tauber regional administration, the International Convention Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation IZKK (Internationales Zentrum fuer Kulturgueterschutz und Konservierungsforschung) took up this task in early 2008.
The central task of the IZKK is especially the exchange of knowledge and experience. Seminars, training courses and conferences address an international audience of experts. The offer is aimed at conservators and employees of museums and offices of monument conservation, as well as research institutions and universities.
